The Last of the Babies & Packing for Japan!

Sorry I've been an absentee blogger -- summertime gets so full of activity!  But here it is the last dolly drive post!  The last of the dolls to arrive were some of the funniest and sweetest.  Thank You again to everyone who participated.  This was so much fun.  All the babies -- 115 total -- are destined for Japan mid-August.  We should have some images from there to post around mid-September.

These fun little bears came from S. Pippin in Rockwood, MI....

And from Port Townsend, WA -- F. Pray and her twin girls made these ADORABLE babies!  You can be sure they got a few extra snuggles from Lottie!
More sweet sweet bears from C. Alt in Allen Park, MI...
And these great little reclaimed men's shirt babies from my Cousin Erin and my Aunt Susan -- Orlando, FL -- sorta they were here visiting!
Dollies from me and Curious Lottie's along with the critters at the top.
And these awesome little guys were waiting for us at Icebox Knitting on drop off day -- Thank you M. McCarthy!  So cute!  LOVE that they have belly buttons!
Meet Scott Baker -- our Icebox Knitting guy -- (and all the babies together).  Thank You Scott, without you this drive would not have happened!
And this is us packing up dollies and critters for their trip across the sea -- me, my mom, Suzy, and Erin at Icebox.  Thanks for your help, Ladies!
To everyone who participated -- once again, Thank You!

Happy Crafting!

Such Super Duper Dolly Fun!

This little dolly drive has been so much fun!  Thank You to everyone who contributed.  I've been so impressed with your generosity and with your talents.  Little Lottie has personally greeted each doll we've received with a great big hug and now daily asks me if we can go to Japan to see "the kids"  for whom these dolls are for.  Being that she's 2-1/2 years old, I'm having some difficulty explaining just how far Japan is from Colorado.

Today Lottie and I took a trip down to pick up dolls from Fancy Tiger and got a sweet little stash of cuties!  Thank You to those of you who donated through Fancy Tiger and to Fancy Tiger for collecting for us.  Congratulations on your 5 year Anniversary!  If you're out and about in Denver tomorrow -- Stop the big Birthday Bash!

These little babies are from Emily and Girl Scout Troops #1008 and #1621 of Northeastern New York.  Thank You girls for these sweet sleeping babes!

Thank You also to Renee in Harrisville, UT for this sweet bunch of blondies!  So very huggable and happy!

And another big Thank You out to Kathy who sent these great knitted and crochet critters!  Don't you just love these babies?!?

Dollies Making a Difference!

As the dolly drive wraps up I am expecting several more boxes from you wonderful sewers out there.  Yesterday we got a box of 10 very silly and very sweet little lovies from Cindy with Dollies Making a Difference.  Thanks Cindy!  Each of these babies already got a BIG hug from Lottie when they arrived and I think they will get many more to come as they go to the children in Japan!

New Babies this Week!

We've received a few exciting donations for the Dolly Drive this week!

A box of super sweet bears all the way from England -- Thank You to Val with Bella Bag's for sending these sweet little guys -- and during a big move nonetheless!

And five fabulous bears from our friend Carol in Broomfield, Colorado -- look how much love she put into each one of these babies!  Thank You Carol -- they will surely be loved!

And lastly (certainly not least!)  are these 18 girls and 6 elephants from Teresa in Dubuque, Iowa!  So, cute and colorful -- like a little rainbow of love!  Thanks Teresa!

We are very excited for the next few weeks of donations to arrive.  Remember that the deadline for the Dolly Drive is July 15th -- we'll be posting these to Japan during the following week!

Happy sewing!

The first of the dolls to arrive!

In my neighborhood, the postman still comes to my door.  Well not everyday, when it's raining, snowing, or he's got a special package.  So, this week I was so excited to see him with the first box addressed to Curious Lottie's Fancy Crafts!  I exclaimed, "Babies!  Babies are here!" and the postman began to seriously question my sanity.
Smooch Panda Crafts

So here they are - the first babies to arrive for our Dolly Drive for Children of Japan.  These come from Jun in Missouri, of Smooch Panda Crafts.  Aren't they adorable?  I could hardly contain myself!  She also has links to free patterns, if you're so inclined to use them for the babies I know you are busily making here's the Bluefin Tuna and the super-sweet kimono bunny, the Year of the Rabbit.  Thanks Jun!  Lovely work and I'm sure each of these critters will put a smile on a little face!  Check out her Etsy shop too!

Also, today I am happy to announce that Cindy and her sewing group from Dollies Making a Difference are going to join our dolly drive!  Here's some more information about them and an inspirational photo of dolls they made in the past to get everyone motivated on making some dollies!

After sending more than 600 dollies to Haiti through the disaster relief organization AmeriCares International, we decided to expand our reach to other young persons who could possibly find happiness in receiving a dollie.  Thus began Dollies Making a Difference.  We’ve since sent our dollies to orphanages in Ghana and Tanzania, a hospital in Israel,  a medical mission trip to Berkina Faso, a school in North Korea, and a housing program in Ensenada, Mexico. We have also donated dollies to children at Riley’s Children Hospital in Indianapolis, and even closer to home to young patients at UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital.
Yippie, Cindy, so happy you're on board!

Love to you......B.
